Life in the Middle Ages: A.Davanzo

Dear Father,
We have concluded our quest to recapture our holy lands which is being called the First Crusade. I am writing to you to describe this unique experience to you. Our ultimate goal was to capture Jerusalem. We also had to free the Eastern Christians from Islamic rule. We traveled together with knights and peasants. There were many more peasants then knights. Our first stop was Constantinople.
We split into two armies. The peasants were their own army and the knights made up the other. I was part of the knights. We were much more trained then the peasants and because of that we were able to reach Jerusalem while the peasants were not.
When we reached Jerusalem we launched an violent assault on the city. In 1099 we captured the city and erupted in happiness. We are now in the process of establishing the crusader states which we plan to name the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the County of Tripoli, the Principality of Antioch, and the County of Edessa.
